A Word of Encouragement

Fork in the Road, Ika Nigeria - Feb 2013

Grace, Hope & Peace, Friend;

As Paul was relating his experience on the road to Damascus, to the Jews in Jerusalem, he told them how he had set out, with authorization from the Jewish religious leaders, to arrest Believers and send them back to Jerusalem for punishment. As he neared Damascus, Jesus stopped him in his tracks - blinding him with a bright light. (Acts 22:1-9)

"And I said, 'What shall I do, Lord?' And the Lord said to me, 'Get up and go on into Damascus, and there you will be told about everything that has been appointed for you to do.'

Acts 22:10

Being blind, Paul was led into Damascus where Ananias came and restored his sight. (Vs. 11-13)

And he (Ananias) said, "The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear a message from His mouth. For you will be a witness for Him to all people of what you have seen and heard."

Acts 22:14-15

Paul had been heading up to Damascus to persecute followers of Jesus. Instead of blocking him and sending him somewhere else, Jesus told him to keep going to Damascus, but once there, Jesus would tell him what HE wanted him to do.

Do we sometimes make plans and find them blocked? What is our response? Do we just turn around and go back? Or do we acknowledge God's sovereignty and say, "What shall I do, Lord?"

He may want us to go ahead with our plans, but with a few changes. Are we willing to submit our plans to His will?

This is God, our God, forever and always! He is the one who will lead us even to the very end.

Psalm 48:14 (CEB)

Submit to His plan,
