Grace, Hope & Peace, Friend; Possibly written toward the end of his life, David wrote,
Isn't that a common question for most of us? We look around us at the countless things we have to do daily - the mountains we have to climb - and feel inadequate. We wonder who is going to help us. "Where will my help come from?" Where do you turn for help? As children, we often turned to our parents for help. As we got older, we added friends and neighbors; Then coworkers and finally we came back to asking our children for help. But no matter what our age, all of us need help at times. David - the powerful king of Israel - continued, "My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:2) Who better than the Creator of the universe is there to rely on for help? Looking back at his own experiences, and God's help through them, David wrote,
My Creator helps me climb mountains. So the New Testament urges us,
Elohim my Ozer - God my helper - Thank You for promising to help me. Give me the wisdom and faith to trust You when I feel inadequate.
Look to Him for help, |
